What is T-Rex?
Official key art puts a T-Rex behind the player on the sand strip between the waves. Gameplay treats that chase as a failed run if it connects: the egg drops and you are sent back to the Safe Zone. The T-Rex is also a hatch you can own. The guardian and the pet are not the same object.

How do you get T-Rex?
These are encounters on the opened sea, not pets you unlock from a menu. The matching animal, if it exists, is a hatch and has its own page under Animals.
How do you use T-Rex?
If this guardian is catching you, shorten the route or buy Speed, then retry the same egg. Do not pick up a second egg while it is already behind you.
